Bruno Cremer

Bruno Jean Marie Cremer (6 October 1929 – 7 August 2010) was a French actor born in Saint-Mandé, Val-de-Marne. Cremer is best known for portraying Jules Maigret on French television, from 1991 to 2005.
== Biography ==
Bruno Cremer attended the Cours Hattemer, a private school.
His career on stage included creating the role of Thomas Beckett in the 1959 world premiere of the play ''Becket'' by Jean Anouilh.
In 1957, he had a credited role in the movies for the first time in ''Send a Woman When the Devil Fails'' (also known as ''When a Woman Meddles'' and ''When the Woman Gets Confused''), featuring Alain Delon. He is widely known in France and the French-speaking world for his interpretation of the famous detective Maigret in a television series that started in 1991 and ended in 2005 after 54 episodes.
In 2000, he published an autobiography, ''Un certain jeune homme'' (''A Certain Young Man''). He died of cancer, aged 80, in Paris on 7 August 2010. He had been suffering from cancer for several years.〔'Maigret' star Bruno Cremer dies at 80: (On Google News - AFP Text, August 8, 2010 )〕
